SCULPTURE FROM RUBBISH WHICH IS INSURED FOR 1000000000$ !!!
We are inspired a lot from the idea of creating art from our daily life materials or the things that we have thrown away, things in nature...
In today’s world we are all consuming almost everything around us. Supermarkets, shopping centers are the places that we spend many times of our lives, and the idea of such kind of consuming really disturbs us. Then we decided to create art from the packages of these materials.People consume these materials and then leave their packages to the nature carelessly. We thought to collect these packages from nature and use them in our project.Everything can be included in our project. Packages of chips, chocolate, biscuits,bottles,cans...We will collect them from the rubbish of markets,or from the streets...
We are planning to make a sculpture from all these things .We think of making a human body.We will make a model from wires and fill it with rubbish which we collected before. With wires, we will also use tree leaf and limb in the surface of our sculpture as a part of nature.
We are thinking of making sculpture of Venus. We think that from history to today, women always have been thought as an art object which could be exhibited. But the only thing about women is not her body. So we are planning to write as “My body is insured for 100000000$!” as a criticism to this idea. But we are not sure about this yet. Tugba - Caner

I love this idea of yours, if possible it would be also good if your materials were cosmetic wastes, liposuction fat, real hair cut in a barber's shop and thrown away, finger nails etc.
I think you may also be interested in Orlan's performans works, the way she is related to her body and that you are to your model.
I am longing to see your project.:)
this is project is going to be pretty interesting...
if u want, we can search for other art works which problematize the "waste" issue in different ways. there are some films and books that deal with "the rubbish" in a sarcastic way. by going over those works, maybe u can get more into other theoretical approaches. i know that means more work, just in case u want...
by the way i have some rubbish collected at home, i can back you up :)
thanks for your comments!we are really interested in Orlan's performans works and other artists that criticize the body issue like us.It will be helpful ıf you can recommend us more artists, films, books for our project, maybe there won't be enough time to get into theorotical approaches deeply for this project, but we will continue to study in these issues later on.
by the way, please continue to collect rubbish for us,More rubbish, less liposuction:)
that sounds like a cool idea.. i am a graphic design student who has also thought of something similar concerning a specific given brief. i was just wondering if anybody knows where it is possible for me to be able to gather up rubbish cans, crisp packets cardboard etc and then melt them together to create something, something even as simple as a 3d cube?
please reply asap x thanx x
